Thanks to my friend and business partner Marie-Therese from MDDV Jewels my new inspiring journey and project brought me to dazzling Mexico earlier this year, a country full of adventures, history, color and culture.
I dived into all kind of textiles, which have a vitality that is unsurpassed elsewhere in the Americas. The arts of spinning, dying, weaving and embroidery are practiced in hundreds of rural communities where indigenous people retain distinctive clothing styles.
Overwhelmed by the REBOZO, Mexican’s most important cloth standing not only for high quality handcrafting and weaving techniques but moreover for a practical piece used for protection from sun and cold and carrying heavy goods and children, the new bag collection was born. Made from handcrafted rebozos (see here the complex making of) and soft cow leather all models are an all-round choice for summer and winter, ideally styled with a classic tee and jeans to really let the one of a kind pattern pop.
