Marrakech’s white gem: Hotel Riad Ana Yela

A couple of weeks ago business brought me back to my magical Marrakech and this time a dream came true. Last time I was in that location I thought that when I will get married I want to spend my honeymoon there.. Years later I am not married yet but in the meantime I got to know Andrea Kolb, master mind behind this beautiful place on earth and founder of accessory label Abury, who made it possible for me to stay at her Riad Ana Yela.

“Ana Yela” translates “I am Yela” and is the beginning of a romantic love letter, which was found by Andrea and her former husband while reconstructing a 200 year old riad in the medina of Marrakech. Both fell in love head over heals with the Moroccan imperial city and also decided to open a hotel which, when spending some time there, actually remains an unforgettable soul experience.

The AnaYela – “place of inspiration” is indeed an oasis that in the hectic of the medina offers calm and rest and simply a totally different world. This is Marrakech, the quiet Marrakech with its traditional architecture and furniture chosen by Andrea with incomparable taste. The whole atmosphere – with the pool in the middle of the courtyard, the comfortable white leather poufs, the mint tea and the delicious pastries, the marvelous roof terrace – touches your soul. No wonder inspiration flourishes here.

Besides, the whole team is wonderful and service and food is from best quality. You feel so looked after and secure, above all thanks to the SOS mobile phone you get from the staff should you ever get lost in the Medina (and believe me, you always get lost)!

Dear Andrea, thank you so much for this memorable stay, you truly have a jewel in Marrakech, I will come back for sure!
